This policy explains what personal data Indicalert collects when you visit our website or use the Indicalert app, what we do with it and what choices you have.
Who we are
Indicalert ("we", "us") provides a crypto alerting, charting and backtesting service at indicalert.com. For questions about your data, write to [email protected].
Data we collect
Account data. When you register we collect your name, last name, email address and country, and the password you choose. Passwords are stored only as a salted hash, never in readable form. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, name and email address from Google; we never see your Google password.
What you create in the app. Your alerts and their conditions, watchlists, saved chart layouts and drawings, studies, scanner scans and results, your language preference, and your conversations with the AI assistant.
Telegram. When you connect Telegram, our bot receives the Telegram chat ID of your chat with it. We store that ID and use it only to deliver your alerts.
Payments. Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card number. We keep your Stripe customer and subscription references, your plan, and the billing period dates.
Technical data. Our web servers record your IP address, browser type and the pages or endpoints you request in server logs, which we keep for about 14 days. We use them to run the service, investigate problems and prevent abuse.
AI features. When you use the AI assistant, we store your messages and the assistant's replies in your account, and we keep the most recent chart screenshots that were attached to your questions.
Cookies
This marketing website asks for your choice the first time you visit. Until you accept, it sets no analytics or advertising cookies and loads no analytics or advertising scripts (only a small cookie, named indicalert_consent, that remembers your choice), and its fonts and images are served from our own servers. If you accept, we load Google Analytics 4, which sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier) and sends information such as the pages you view, your approximate location, your device and browser, and a pseudonymous identifier to Google. We use it only to understand how the site is used. We do not use it for advertising, and Google's advertising features are switched off. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer; rejecting or withdrawing deletes the analytics cookies. Your choice is remembered for about 6 months in the indicalert_consent cookie, which is shared by this website and the Indicalert app so that you are asked only once.
Separately, we measure visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused service that does not use cookies and does not track individual visitors across websites; it reports totals such as page views, visits, countries and page speed.
The app uses cookies that it needs in order to work: a session cookie that keeps you logged in and a security token that protects forms. It also stores your theme and some display preferences in your browser. We do not use cookies for advertising.
The app asks the same question and, if you accept, uses the same Google Analytics to see which pages and features are used. In the app we send Google only the page address without its query string and without ids or tokens, and we do not send your name, email address or account number. We leave out the pages that carry secrets (such as password reset links) and the administration pages altogether. You can change your choice in the app under your account menu, "Cookie settings".
How we use your data
- To provide the service: create your account, evaluate your alerts when candles close, and send you the notifications you asked for.
- To keep the service secure: sign-in checks, rate limiting, spam and abuse prevention, and a reCAPTCHA check on sign-up and some forms.
- To process payments and keep billing records.
- To send service emails: welcome and account emails, password resets and important notices about your account or the service.
- To provide AI analysis and AI chat features you request.
- To respond to support and privacy requests, and to fix and improve the service.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
AI features and OpenAI
When you ask the AI assistant a question, we send your message, the earlier messages of the conversation, a screenshot of the chart you are looking at, and the market and timeframe to OpenAI, which generates the reply. We send an internal account number but not your name or email address. Please do not type sensitive personal information into the chat. You can delete your conversation with "Clear chat history".
Who we share data with
We use the following service providers to run Indicalert. They process data on our behalf, or, in the case of Google and Telegram, act as the service you choose to use:
- Stripe: payment processing and billing.
- MailerSend: sending our service emails.
- OpenAI: generating AI analysis and chat replies.
- Telegram: delivering your alerts to your Telegram chat.
- Google: "Sign in with Google", the reCAPTCHA spam check and, only if you accept analytics on this website, Google Analytics.
- Cloudflare: network protection, content delivery and cookie-free visit statistics for our website, and network protection for our app, which means your requests pass through Cloudflare.
Market prices come from public exchange data and contain no personal data. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to respond to valid legal requests, or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.
International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as the standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms offered by those providers.
Legal bases (EU and UK users)
We process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the service you signed up for), for our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, fixing and improving the service), to meet legal obligations such as accounting and tax rules, and on the basis of your consent where we ask for it, which you can withdraw at any time.
How long we keep data
- Account data and what you created in the app: for as long as your account exists.
- Web server logs: about 14 days.
- Billing records: as long as tax and accounting law requires us to keep them.
When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable time, keeping only what we are legally required to keep.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to receive a copy in a portable format, to object to or restrict some processing, and to withdraw consent. To use any of these rights, including deleting your account, email [email protected] from the address on your account. We may need to verify that the request is yours. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
To stop Telegram alerts at any time, delete or disable your alerts, or block the Indicalert bot in Telegram.
Security
We use HTTPS, store passwords as salted hashes, limit access to our systems to the people who need it, and keep software up to date. No online service can be perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us promptly about any suspected unauthorised access.
Children
Indicalert is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new "last updated" date and, for significant changes, try to notify you as well.
